Tourism spreads wings on Impulse

This article demonstrates the many ways that number is used and provides the opportunity for/discussion on topics such as money, time and percentages. Students are able to use and manipulate figures from the article and the opportunity also arises for students to develop their own questions. Question 5 enables students to analyse the information contained in the article and discuss consequential impacts such as on economy, infrastructure and employment. It would also be beneficial to have information about how the cost of travel has reduced over time, students could then graph this effect and further discussion could attempt to explain this phenomena. The article could be used in association with topics on transport, tourism or Tasmania.
