This article, and particularly the scoreboard, provides many opportunities
for mathematical analysis within an upper primary classroom, particularly
elementary statistics such as the calculation of averages, difference,
table reading and reporting, calculation of percentages, comparisons,
and criterion-based ranking. There is also ample opportunity for
students to develop skills in choice (and justification) of methods
used in making these calculations.
