Runners carry baton 661km for charity
This article, while being relatively accessible to readers with
limited literacy skills, requires students to think mathematically
in order to make sense of what they are reading. The article provides
primary school students with the opportunity to do a lot of practical
work, to taking maths out of the classroom and relating it to
their own experiences. It could be a starting point for students
to organise their own fun run, integrating maths with physical
education in a meaningful way.
