Rain causes havoc on roads

This tiny article is enriched with numerous literacy and numeracy activities that will aid teachers in the primary classroom and assist in assessment of students' mathematical thinking.

Firstly, there are many opportunities for mathematical computations using a small set of numbers. Children can explore number sentences using multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, brackets, fractions, decimals and so on.

Secondly, in relation to literacy, there is a huge range of words which provide lessons on word usage, word families, dictionary skills, spelling, and use of words that imply place, space, and time.
