Changing patterns in our viewing habits
This article uses averages for interpretation, times which can be used for numeracy work, and ideas which could be the basis for student or class projects collecting similar data about themselves or their school. What does it mean to say "the average" Australian watches TV for 3 hours and 13 minutes each day? How might this have been determined? What does it mean to say that the average household has 1.8 TV sets when one cannot have .8 of a TV set? What measure of average was probably used here?
