ALP the winner in fight for poll funding support
This article can be used when encouraging students to be critically literate, especially with reference to statistics. The question of interest is whether the headline draws the appropriate inference from the data reported in the article. Students need to become aware of political interests at work in the news media. As an exercise in graphical representation students can be asked to create a side-by-side bar graph to show the relative contributions to the two major parties by the twenty organisations.
