Since odds and probability are not defined identically there is an inconsistency between the headline and the chance reported in the second last paragraph. [If the odds against: for as a:b then the probability of the event happening is b/(a+b)]

It would be interesting to speculate how the statistician calculated that such an event would occur once in 10,371 years!
