Teen skin cancer alarm
This article discusses a survey whose sample size is adequate but it does not describe the method by which the participants were selected. Students could suggest valid methods for selecting participants from across the state and from different types of schools.
The article also provides the opportunity to practice numeracy skills with the percentages reported. Percentages of percentages, as suggested by the conditional statements on wearing head gear and preference for type, are not easy for some student. Perhaps having a context within which to work will be helpful for some. (Questions are included for students)
