This article illustrates how sometimes headlines do not adequately represent the statistical results reported in the article. Students could be asked to read the article and make up their own headline. The percentages given could be used to create graphical representations to show the relative popularity of various snack foods or the the relative popularity of various brands of chocolate. It is also possible to calculate the overall percentage of consumption of various chocolates (e.g., .42 x .33 = .1386 or 14% of those surveyed ate Mars bars).
