A SQUADRON of more than 30 planes created one of the most impressive fly-bys in Sydney's history when the London to Sydney Centenary Air Race drew to a spectacular close yesterday. The pack of 31 aircraft flew down Sydney Harbour in formation to the race's final touchdown at Bankstown airport after their 22,000 km odyssey through 15 countries over 28 days. The race was won by favourite Spirit of Kai Tak.
