SOME very tired runners finished the annual 48- hour charity relay run in Hobart yesterday with sore legs but happy smiles. Runners chalked up an incredible 1654 spon- sored laps, or more than 661km, and raised about $8000 for the Tasmanian division of the Heart Foundation. Organiser Nigel Hyland said it left the relay just short of its $100,000 target over the past 12 years. "But it's a good effort and we want to thank the runners, helpers, sponsors and the public for a great effort," Mr Hyland said.
