Cheating on wife a health hazard

London

ADULTERY is bad for the
heart, according to a
leading cardiac expert.

   Men face twice the
normal risk of having a
heart attack after making
love. But this increases
further for those who are
cheating on their wives,
particularly with younger
women, he says.

   The physical strain on
the heart is matched by
the psychological
anxiety of having the
affair.

   Older men who make
love to a younger woman
they are not supposed to
be with are at extra risk,
Professor Lars Ryden the
president of the European
Society of Cardiology,
told its congress.

   "The psychological
situation is very
problematic.

   "Scientifically, we
know that the number of
heart attacks and sudden
deaths are more prevalent
in these situations.

   About one in 100
attacks results from
sexual activity when the
heart rate increases to
120 beats a minute and
blood pressure rises.
