TWICE as many Tasmanians watched the Nanny get married as those who viewed the state election debate on Sunday night. An average of 74,000 Tasmanians watched Premier Tony Rundle and Opposition Leader Jim Bacon go head to head on WIN Television. But over on Southern Cross Television the situation comedy The Nanny pulled an average of 161,000 viewers. The WIN figures were not helped by the station going off air on the West Coast. WIN is offering to send out a free video tape to those who missed the debate because of the blackout.
