FISH, vegetables, a sprinkle of olive oil, bread, fruit and a glass of wine to wash the lot down is the ideal menu to avoid heart ailments, say French scientists. Cut down on meat and stay off butter and cream, said the scientists from the French Institute for Health and Medical Research. They divided a group of 584 heart patients into two groups given different diets over 27 months. Patients eating their usual diet suffered 16 heart attacks while there were only three heart attacks in the group given the Mediterranean diet.
